1944 U.S. Patent Document

For our final assignment from the online course, “A Graphic Designer Made That”, we were challenged to replicate a 1944 U.S. Patent document. I began by doing a hunt for each typeface that matched the original document the best and then I typed out the entire document. After that, I went line by line and readjusted each character to capture the typewriter imperfections. I used some Illustrator techniques to give it a true printed feel. I also recreated the signatures on Procreate and the pencil writing with pencil and paper. After all was set in place, I photoshopped it to age it up. Finally, I printed, assembled, and stapled it together…and voila, we have a replica!
